Different ideas for blog structure

Mike Rundle posts a great article containing some really inventive ideas for how to handle archived posts. An interesting example of a blog site using some of his ideas is Guy Dickinson's Participo. It's awaiting a redesign, but check out the automatic "related posts" and, even better, "Google search on this post" - both of which display other articles that cover the same topic.

Mike's keen to get rid of dated archives, and order the content by popularity, which would be measured by the number of comments. His new site, Hi Mike, isn't up yet, but his colleague Paul Scrivens' Whitespace blog has been redesigned recently, following some of the same ideas.

Check out the home page, where the number of comments a post has takes priority over its title. If you're interested you can read in more depth about his Whitespace redesign.

These are just a few recent examples I've found. If I come across more I'll be sure to write about them. If you know of any blogs that are using a non-standard structure for comments or archives please leave a link in the comments on this post, as I'd love to see more.
