Installing Movable Type 3.2

I've just upgraded to Movable Type 3.2 and thought I'd share a couple of the problems I encountered here, in the hope that it may help someone else.

I was getting the message "Error during upgrade: Access denied for user 'mt_user'@'%' to database 'mt' at lib/MT/Upgrade.pm line 1076." as MT tried to upgrade the database. Not very helpful, but I found this advice on 43things which worked perfectly. All you need to do is give mt_user all permissions for the MT table in MySQL.

I was also getting the error "The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers." I solved that by following this advice from Six Apart.

Not the smoothest upgrade I've ever encountered, but it is now working. Looks pretty good too.

Its strage isn't it ... MT is my favourite blog software and I use it for most projects as a basic content management tool, but everytime I think about having to set-it up on a new server a cold chill runs down my spine.
I poked about with Wordpress for a bit and was impressed with the one-click install but flumoxed by it's template management.
Come on MT! One click installs for all!
